Looking to buy new 18 terrain sle

Hey all, current owner of 17 Cherokee trailhawk and I hate it. Trading in this summer and looking at the new terrain. I'm curious what you owners think I should be wary of? Whay do you like or dislike about it? Common issues that all owners have? I understand it's a redesigned model so it isn't exactly what you have, but maybe certain electrical and mechanical things carry over . All input welcome and appreciated!

Cheers

You can search using the Search box above for 2018 Equinox as well. They are the same except for sheet metal and trim. Only a few owners have bothered to make it here and register. Oh . .. except the Terrain has Push Button gear selection vs the Equinox console shifter.

Here is a recent thread. . . .http://www.equinoxforum.net/index.php?topic=27786.0

And check the few reviews and first rides . . . .https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...18+GMC+Terrain

Re: Looking to buy new 18 terrain sle

I am also going to be looking at a 2018 Terrain after the lease on my 2016 Terrain is done. I have been researching the 2018. The one thing I am very uncomfortable with is that the 2018 will have the stop-start engine control system, and there will not be any way to turn it off. This could very well cost GMC a sale.

By the way, the 2016 has been a trouble-free vehicle. I may just purchase the 2016.

If the buy back price is low enough and it is a 3.6L V6 . .. . it may be worth keeping. 1st year models on any vehicle are often a good wait and see item. I waited 3 model years on my 2017 Chevy Colorado truck and glad I did. It has the updated 3.6L LGZ V6 engine and 8 speed transmission. Glad I waited.

Re: Looking to buy new 18 terrain sle

My Cherokee has stop start and I actually don't mind it. The only part thay sucks is with the AC going. Mine can be turned off each trip but it won't remember.

So... I thought the 18 would have a 18 gallon tank but apparently it's only 15.9?? One of the reasons I don't like the cherokee....

My 2016 Terrain is the 4 cylinder. 90% of the time, it's O.K. But yes, the V6 would probably have been better.

Re: Looking to buy new 18 terrain sle

I was wondering how it would be if you are in some serious road construction in the summer time with the stop/start and your AC is turned off ?

I suppose you could move a foot or so and it would kick back on. Seems weird you can't bypass the S/S system.

The 2018 GMC terrain Look awsome.

The only think im not sure is the Push Button Transmission.

I would have like if they stay with a Standard Floor mount lever for transmission.
