I have scanned the service manual pages for removing the siderails and the trim. They are in an album I created on the forum..or here are the links:

Yes, I purchased the service manual online...I'm pretty sure it was through the GM website

Just gave it a try removing the trim in front of the roof racks to see if there are any Welded nuts in that area.............

I chickened out..........not sure how they are attached and was bending the trim a bit,and did not want to force the issue (break the trim)

Thanks for posting the scans

there shouldnt be any welded nuts on the front piece..just metal clips...if you find the metal clips and gently pry up with wide flat tip it should come up

Yeah...that book of the manual is about 3 inches thick and wouldnt fit the scanner any other way...of course you can always click on 'view' and rotate twice also...lol

This definately looks like it will work between the equinox and different models of terrain. My SLE-1 has all the same mounting locations for rails and trim has the models where the racks come factory installed. I will find out for sure when the rails get delivered probably on Thur. Anyway here are some pics of how the trim is attached to the roof and pics of the threaded studs that the roof rails attach to.

Well...got the roof rails in the mail this evening about 20 min later everything is on and looks great. Here are some pics..just to note these rails were off an equinox...so everything as far as roof rails are interchangeable between GMC and Chevy...I guess I have the first SLE-1 trim package with roof rails. Thanks to DonBlocker for the easy exchange...(your trim will be shipped out on Friday)
